Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an Unix Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in San Diego, California, where we define possible.

Join our team to work in an embedded technology environment to develop software working with real time operating systems for use in flight and mission critical systems.   We build complex aircraft systems using the latest technologies including simulation, cloud computing, DevSecOps, and cyber that can rapidly evolve to deliver enhanced capabilities for fielded systems, modernizing in partnership with our customers to meet their most complex missions. Accomplish

In this role you will assist with data center design, deployment, and documentation and will need domain knowledge of the existing areas.

Essential Functions:

Ability to assist in of automating manual datacenter processes using Automation tools (Ansible, python, bash, etc.).Assist in development of CI/CD processes.Develop engineering and automated deployments for datacenter system configurations.Executing engineering projects on schedule.Collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot and redline documented procedures.Implement engineering changes to the system as requiredResponsible for integrating and testing software and/or hardware systems in complex IT systems.Work closely with Engineers and Technicians in a lab environment.Good planning, coordination, and documentation skills are required.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 2 years of STEM related engineering experienceExperience in scripting/programming languages such as Python, Bash, and PowershellExperience deploying, configuring, and hardening virtual machinesInfrastructure automation experience with tools such as Ansible, Packer, Terraform, etcExperience deploying in virtualized environments (VMWare and Hyper-V)Basic infrastructure knowledge in Backup/Storage and Network technologiesActive DoD Top Secret clearanceAbility to obtain (and maintain) special program access (PAR).

Salary Range: $87,200.00 - $130,800.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
