Summary:
Provide overall support for midrange computer problems residing above the system software.
Provide overall support for load balancing using Netscaler.
Identify and successfully troubleshoot midrange computer problems residing above the system software.
Implement midrange infrastructure standards and workflows, as defined, for supported environments.
Work with other teams as needed, to improve disaster recovery efforts, security, performance and backup strategies.
Identify repeatable tasks and automate them.
Assist in stabilizing and improving performance.
Maintain technical documentation including startup, shutdown, maintenance procedures and develop platform and environment documentation.
Provide off-hours support for Midrange computer issues, as needed.
Assist in the implementation of volume/stress testing and capacity management.
Deploy updates to batch reporting jobs.
Ensure deployed environments are compliant with defined best practices.
Skills:
Shell scripting and Unix/AIX utility scripting experience.
Experience with J2EE deployments, preferably in a UNIX/AIX environment.
A fundamental understanding of basic networking concepts, especially in the realm of TCP/IP.
Strong communication and organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Experience with J2EE enterprise (large) application support.
Fluency in UNIX/AIX environments and the native commands, tools and utilities.
Experience managing application servers on UNIX, Linux, and Windows operating systems.
Knowledge of security principles (SSL, SET, ETC) and use of firewall digital signatures and certificates.
