News Intern
Nexstar is currently offering an unpaid internship opportunity in our News Department at our Wichita Falls, Texas location. Interested applicants should apply to this open position on www.texomashomepage.com please include a resume with the following information:
•    Semester
o    Spring: February through April
o    Summer: June through August
o    Fall: October through December
•    Available start and end dates
•    Days and hours available to intern
Requirements:
•    Current college student or recent graduate.
•    Strong attention to detail.
•    Strong organization and time management skills.
•    Knowledge of Microsoft suite is a plus (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
•    Able to work a minimum of 15 hours a week (unpaid).
•    Enthusiasm to learn and a positive attitude.
•    Desire to work on a team.
•    Self-starter with proactive mindset.

News interns will spend their time shadowing and gaining experience in the following departments:
News
•    Planning, organizing, editing, and reviewing materials for publication.
•    Suggesting ideas for headlines.
•    Assisting in research and verifying facts.
•    Utilize social media platforms to promote stories.
•    Collaborate with other reporters and staff.
•    Participate in editorial meetings and contribute ideas.

Creative Services
•    May assist in commercial shoots.
•    May also assist in editing commercials.
Digital
•    Learn about the digital advertising opportunities.
•    May assist in creating digital ads.
