Job Description
The Upstream Process Development Associate is involved in the execution of recombinant adeno-associated viral vector (rAAV) production processes. This role includes conducting experiments, aggregating and reviewing experimental data, verifying data in technical reports, and working under the supervision of sr. technical leads.
ResponsibilitiesCulturing mammalian cells in shake flasks and benchtop bioreactors.Supporting lab operational activities for rAAV cell culture studies in stirred tank bioreactors, including AMBR15 and/or AMBR250 bioreactors.Executing molecular biology experiments, including SDS-PAGE/western blotting.Essential SkillsMammalian cell cultureMammalian cell linesCell line developmentViral vectorsBioreactor operationCell bankingCHO and HEK cell cultureAseptic techniqueUpstream process developmentVial thawingAMBR15 and AMBR250 bioreactor operationAdditional Skills & QualificationsB.S. in chemical engineering, chemistry, biochemistry, biology, molecular biology, or related area with 1-3 years of relevant scientific or technical experience in the life sciences industry or equivalent.Comfortable working with instrumentation and technologies in support of cell culture process monitoring.Digital data proficiency is a plus.Experience with aseptic suspension cell culture methods, including sterile media and solution preparation is preferred.Work Environment
This is primarily a lab-based position working with both the R&D group and manufacturing.
