USU Eastern Upward Bound is a federally funded grant program designed to encourage postsecondary preparation of high school students who are from low-income families and are first-generation college bound students. During a six week summer program approximately 30 Upward Bound students experience intensive academic, cultural, and social expansion while living in the residence halls at USU Eastern.

The students will be attending class beginning June 2nd, 2025 and will continue through July 2nd, 2025. Classes will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a lunch break and a study hall in between classes. Each teacher will teach up to 30 students in grades 9-12 for one hour a day, four days a week (Monday-Thursday). USU Eastern Upward Bound is a federally funded grant program designed to encourage Highlights: postsecondary preparation of high school students who are from low-income families and are first-generation college bound students. We serve 60 high school students from Grand, Emery and Carbon counties during the school year and 30 high school students from Grand, Emery and Carbon counties in our summer program.

 

We are looking for teachers who are qualified to teach:

MathLanguage ArtsScienceForeign LanguagePhysical EducationOther Extra Curricular Activities(i.e. theatre, art, graphic arts, culinary arts, etc.)

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in education or related field.Ability to work with and relate to high school age students.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Ability to serve as a mentor, advisor and role model to students.Ability to work productively and cooperatively with colleagues.
