Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity 

As Urban Supervisor, you will take charge of a defined area of the urban maintenance programme and traffic management delivery within the Whanganui Region and shape the outcome by making informed decisions, leading the frontline, and ensuring a positive Zero Harm culture is maintained. 

This role will include responsibilities such as:

Assist in the selection, coaching and development of staff Planning, organising, directing and controlling the activities of operational teams including subcontractors to ensure their work meets project objectives and requirements Assist with the development and implementation of forward works programmes

This role also ensures key customer and stakeholder relationships are nurtured, whilst creating a collaborative “best for network” environment across your portfolios.

You will have a ‘hands-on’ approach in the management and supervision of work teams, preferably with cyclic maintenance and traffic management delivery experience. Collaboration will be your mantra and will serve you well in this role. You’ll couple this with:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills including all round computer literacy Ability to influence with demonstrated leadership behaviours that empower others Strong problem solving skills & initiative Ability to drive delivery and complete within specified time frames while ensure quality outcomes Competence in the use of RAMM an advantage A proven track record developing a culture that supports business excellence Strong relationship management skills with internal and external stakeholders
