US Inventory Accounting & Reporting, Sr Manager

This position is responsible for developing, managing, and streamlining inventory accounting & reporting. This role will oversee and coordinate global inventory accounting & reporting. Assist Local Finance Teams with technical accounting matters related to inventory accounting & reporting and provide guidance as required. Participate in ad hoc projects as required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Responsible for overseeing and coordinating global inventory accounting & reporting including but not limited to reviewing the monthly inventory balance sheet positions for each entity to identify any anomalies (e.g., inventory balance with no corresponding inventory reserve).

Participate in the quarterly inventory analysis review process for all entities and develop a plan to ensure all entities reserve balances are reviewed by Corporate Accounting at least annually. Identify areas that require improvement and ensure consistency with Company policy.

Coordination with the local finance leads to obtain variance commentary to support the quarterly closing process related to the balance sheet and cash flows.

Roll-out the Company’s standard inventory reserve analysis template across all entities.

Oversee the Company’s annual lower of cost of net realizable value (LCNRV) testing.

Develop and implement appropriate inventory accounting & reporting policies including creating new accounts and account descriptions in HFM.

Identify and implement processes and best practices within the organization; drive efficiencies in business and accounting processes related to inventory accounting & reporting.

Identify unexpected accounting related issues as they arise and bring them to resolution.

Assist with the due diligence process and post-close integrations related to inventory accounting & reporting.

Gather and validate supporting workpapers for opening balance sheet position as well as Day 1 accounting requirements for acquisitions.

Review and perform budget vs. actual variance analysis and analytical commentary for U.S. Core businesses.

Provide support for other miscellaneous Corporate Finance activities as requested.

Participate in special projects and performs other duties as required.

Ten (10) or more years of accounting experience, most recently in a management capacity, required

Experience in cost accounting, required

CPA required

WORK EXPERIENCE: 

Typically, 10 or more years of increasing responsibility and complexity in terms of any applicable professional experience.

PREFERRED EDUCATION: 

Typically, a Bachelor's Degree or global equivalent in related discipline. Master's degree or global equivalent preferred. May hold two or more industry certifications. CPA is strongly preferred.

TRAVEL / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Travel typically less than 10%. Office environment. No special physical demands required.

The posted range for this position is $109,807 to $171,574 which is the expected starting base salary range for an employee who is new to the role to fully proficient in the role. Many factors go into determining employee pay within the posted range including prior experience, current skills, location/labor market, internal equity, etc. 

 

This position is eligible for a [bonus/incentive] not reflected in the posted range.
