In this role, you will be hands-on with a wide range of analytical equipment, working directly with materials testing, failure analysis, and engineering evaluations. About the Role: As the Lead Materials Engineering Technician, you will have a diverse and exciting set of responsibilities, supporting both production materials testing and engineering evaluations. Your primary work will be in the Polymers and Chemistry Labs, but you will also have the opportunity to support other labs such as XRF, Metals, Fluids, and more. You’ll collaborate with fellow technicians, engineers, and personnel from various teams, making sure operations run smoothly, efficiently, and on time.
You will also take on a leadership role, training and guiding junior technicians and helping them navigate day-to-day tasks. As a self-motivated individual, you will be expected to manage your activities and adapt to ever-changing priorities with minimal oversight.
Key Responsibilities: Operate a variety of analytical instruments to support production material testing and engineering evaluations Perform polymer and chemistry testing, including DSC, TGA, TMA, IC, GC/MS, ICP, and more Conduct failure analysis and evaluations, providing critical data to engineering teams Support cross-functional teams, including XRF, Metals, Fluids, and other laboratory areas as needed Provide leadership and training to other technicians, guiding them in day-to-day lab operations Schedule and prioritize tasks, ensuring timely completion with minimal oversight Maintain a safe, efficient, and organized laboratory environment Support engineering roles as needed to contribute to business goals
Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED required Minimum 5 years of hands-on lab experience in polymer testing (e.g., DSC, TGA, TMA) or analytical chemistry (e.g., IC, GC/MS, ICP) US Citizen Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a dynamic environment
Desired Qualifications: AA or higher degree in a relevant field Experience with aerospace materials and processes Familiarity with other laboratory techniques such as metallography, FTIR, SEM, etc. Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)

Pay Details: $33.00 to $34.00 per hour
