US Payroll Manager

This individual will be responsible for managing and overseeing the US and Canada Payroll Operations which have transitioned to Manila. This individual will have 5 direct reports: the Supervisor of the US Payroll Operations and the US Payroll Analysts. 

Utilizing their strong US & Canada payroll experience we expect this individual to oversee payroll cycles being processed on time and accurately (fortnightly), ensure our relationships with our payroll system provider and other 3rd parties are managed appropriately and ensure we engage effectively with our internal stakeholders to successfully drive towards our objectives.

Accountabilities:

Ensure the full end to end payroll processing is committed on time and accurately.Manage any payroll processing escalations.Responsible for ensuring our SOX and compliance controls are working as expected and continuously review improvement opportunities. Manage our relationship with our systems provider and other 3rd parties to ensure we are being provided the right level of service.Be the payroll representative to ensure acquisitions and divestitures are executed correctly and all necessary changes to our payroll interfaces are managed effectively. Identify and drive strategic opportunities to make the operations more efficient.Responsible for signing-off a selection of SOX control documentation on a fortnightly, monthly, and annual basis.Maintain an excellent working relationship with both onshore and offshore payroll operations. Identification, recommendation, and ownership of process improvements, automation, and standardization opportunities Engagement with internal stakeholder within the business to gather the latest updates impacting individuals pay. This requires teaming/collaboration with other teams that deliver payments/deductions via payroll.Respond to queries raised by internal and external customers in a professional manner and resolve payroll related queries, issues, and disputes.

  

Qualifications:

Able to work in US hours (night shift)Able to work in a hybrid setup (6-9 days per month onsite)Bachelor's degree Minimum 10 years’ experience processing full cycle payroll; particularly US payroll with extensive knowledge of US taxationStrong experience using Ceridian Dayforce payroll softwareProven ability to work well under pressure to tight deadlines, whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy and focusEngage appropriately with external and internal stakeholders to drive the organization towards its objectives and commitmentsExperience applying financial controls and standardsExperience reconciling data to report totalsIntermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel and MS office skills Very good written and verbal communication skillsStrong experience in process improvement concepts and toolsExperience working with SOX controls and compliance requirements is an advantage
