US Supply Chain Manager

The US Supply Chain Manager is responsible for providing focus and leadership necessary for the planning and sourcing team to develop and execute strategies and drive improvement in supply chain, customer demand and operations planning in order to meet customer delivery targets, optimize inventory levels, increase materials velocity, and reduce overall supply chain costs.

Main Responsibilities 

•    Oversees supply chain functions such as: demand planning/forecasting and management, operational planning, inventory planning and management, materials management, capacity planning, MRP, SCP, MPS, supplier management, logistics management,and warehouse management.
•    Provides the visible leadership necessary to achieve the health & safety objectives of Edwards in North America. 
•    Implements supply chain and logistics methodologies that add value and bring the company up to “world class” level of supply chain management resulting in greater efficiency, quality, customer satisfaction, and overall team performance.
•    Leads and motivates planning and procurement teams that effectively manage cyclical volume and new product introductions so that planned delivery and cost targets are consistently met.
•    Improves margins, controls overheads and minimizes variances via efficient management, control, and review of all assigned resources: human, material, information technology, facilities and equipment.   
•    Collaborates with internal departments such as sales, product management, global supply chain management, and finance.  
•    Balances all aspects of the supply chain such as delivery, quality, lead time, inventory, customer satisfaction and the overall supplier relationship.
•    Develops and implements systems to support key supply chain initiatives to improve business efficiencies and reduce the total cost of supply chain management.
•    Supervises all production planning activities such as reviewing flow manufacturing and capacity planning reports, scheduling of customer orders and the interpretation of production measurement tools such as delivery to request and schedule dates and past due job backlog.
•    Interfaces with Global Supply Chain Management/Global Manufacturing Organization to look ahead, visualize the future, plan the supply chain systems and organization as it will be, communicate that vision, and lead its execution.
•    Develops supply strategies that leverage the cost structure and technological advantages of global markets.
•    Aligns procurement and logistics strategies to best meet cost and supply chain network flow.
•    Keeps abreast of all current trends and developments in the areas of supply chain management, logistics, warehousing and distribution and leverage these when and where applicable.
•    Maintains punctual, regular and predictable attendance; works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.
•    Respectfully takes direction from suprevisor and other duties as assigned.

Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

To succeed, you will need:

Education level
o    Bachelors degree in business, economics, mechanical or indusrial engineering, or a related field. Masters degree preferred.

Relevant Previous experience
o    Minimum 10 years experience in a manufacturing environment, specifically in supply chain/logistics management, operations management and/or materials management.
o    Minimum 5 years supervisory experience preferred.

Knowledge areas/Skills 
o    Working knowledge of ERP, MRP and Supply chain planning systems. SAP experience a plus.

Other requirements
o    Strong influencing, negotiating, presentation and communication skills practiced routinely at senior level both internally and externally.
o    Demonstrated experience utilizing problem solving, Nprocess improvement tools and methodoligies such as Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen and statistical process control.
o    Experience implementing world-class supply chain managment, inventory management, forecasting, production scheduling, and/or strategic sourcing and solutions in large manufacturing organizations.

o    Proven track record as a data-driven manager who is proficient in the development and tracking of key performance metrics.
o    Knowledge of database and application software, concepts, and structures, as well as ERP implementation. Strong PC application skills including experiencce with the full complement of Microsoft Office Software.
o    Experience with full cost accounting and utilizing financial data to monitor performance, aid in analytical techniques, and drive change.
