The Army Concepts to Capabilities Department is providing innovative methods to solve our sponsors most challenging problems by applying state-of-the-art engineering and scientific disciplines coupled with exquisite operational understanding to achieve multidomain capable forces. Our work program assists Army operations with the combined arms employment of US and Joint capabilities to maintain land dominance during competition, crisis, and conflict as per the 2022 National Defense Strategy (NDS). The Army Theater Operations Department supports Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (SDDC), US Army Central (USARCENT), US Army Europe – Africa (USAREUR-AF), and US Army Pacific (USARPAC).
Roles & Responsibilities:
We are seeking a highly skilled professional to join our Army Division team, focusing on Experimentation Analysis and Kill Chain Mission Engineering. A key aspect of this role will be understand theater modernization objectives and goals and working across our MITRE project and sponsor teams to make significant contributions to USAREUR-AF mission sets. This role will embody the recent MNS strategy update working on the most consequential of sponsor problems and maximizing value. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
Conduct theater specific capability and technology and gap analysis.Engage in end-to-end mission engineering and analysis for a specific mission area, such as long-range integrated fires or non-kinetic effects kill chains.Developing comprehensive and technology specific data collection and analysis plans for key exercise venues.Conduct modeling and simulation to provide informed recommendations on future capabilities.Develop integration and analysis plans for experimental capabilities and exercise assessments, identifying data and interoperability requirements.Develop and deliver operational and technical feedback to project managers and development teams to inform program requirements and system development.Collaboration across USAREUR-AF headquarters and relevant theater stakeholders to determine the optimal combination of capabilities to achieve desired effects.You will be working in a dynamic team environment, on non-routine tasks requiring novel approaches, with the expectation of facilitating synchronization and collaboration across MITRE and sponsor project teams.This position requires a commitment and relocation for 3 years to Wiesbaden, Germany in support of our work with USAREUR-AF. This position is physically located in Wiesbaden, Germany, and collocated with the sponsor at the U.S. Army Europe-Africa Mission Command Center on Clay Kaserne. The position offer is contingent on the candidate’s qualifying for Technical Expert Status Accreditation (TESA) status.
Basic Qualifications:
Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s Degree’ or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years’ experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience. Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, Operations Research, Computer or Systems Engineering.Possess and maintain a DoD Top Secret/SCI security clearance.Knowledge of Army and Defense, Multidomain operations including A2AD, Experimentation and Exercise development activities.Demonstrated experience in developing modeling and simulation environments (AFSIM, OneSAF, MATLAB, etc.) to support capability evaluationsThis position has an on-site requirement of 5 days a week on-site.Preferred Qualifications:
Strong written and verbal communication skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and effective at diplomatically interacting with technical staff, analysts, and operators ranging from action officers to senior leaders. Demonstrated ability to deliver technical reports and briefings for operational sponsors.In depth knowledge of key MITRE research areas involving space assets and effects delivery, integrated theater fires, operational data fabric implementations.Familiarity with government sponsored development environments at varying classification levels.Experience working with Senior Government Leaders.Demonstrated experience leading interagency teams focused on resolving cross-cutting problems.Advanced degree in Systems Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems Management, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Cyber Security, Software Engineering, or related fields; or equivalent experienceA clear understanding of defense related activities, requirements, and organizational responsibilitiesThis requisition requires the candidate to have a minimum of the following clearance(s):
