OPPORTUNITY Frogtek is a for-profit social enterprise dedicated to boosting the success of small shopkeepers in emerging markets through our technology and data. The company's product is called Tiendatek, a mobile point-of-sale system designed to help small mom-and-pop shops better manage their businesses. Frogtek was launched in 2009 from Spain and New York City and has operations in Colombia & Mexico with a network of over 800 active shops. We are expanding our operations in Africa and in India in the next quarter. We have a small and multi-disciplinary product team that is very focused on data and is led by our Founder. Our goal is to make the shopkeeper successful by generating more profits in her store by following the advice from the Tiendatek Coach every star needs a coach!. We therefore need to understand the way a shopkeeper thinks and build a flawless and smooth experience for her. As with other aspects of our business, we aim to work as professionally as any startup in the Silicon Valley but it is key that you keep our mission at heart. The UX Designer will help us drive the product forward by developing a deep understanding of how a shop works and how their first computer our tablet can help it work better. This key role will define workflows, build wireframes for rapid prototyping and run usability tests. The job is more about designing fluid interfaces than pretty ones. The challenge is to design a tool that becomes the shopkeepers second hand on a mobile computer that is used all day long, ensuring the many required features still feel simple and intuitive. You need to create emotions in our users and make them feel at home. And you will strive for perfection at all phases of the design process, from the initial conception and quick validation all the way through the implemented code running on shops tablets. RESPONSIBILITIES Conceptualizing, wireframing, rapid prototyping, usability-testing, interaction design, visual design, and front-end development Identifying UI and interaction components while ensuring scalability and reusability Creating experiences that successfully accomplish and exceeds appropriately set goals Crafting experiences that make the complex and confusing the simple and understandable Assist in setting overall strategic path for the product through informed design Leveraging data in a way that informs and inspires your design decisions Conceptualize and develop user interfaces that create measurable user engagement Participate in the definition and revision of Personas, Customer Journey, Flow Maps and similar design tools that enable iterative cycles of improvement Work on products and features in close collaboration with the Product Manager, the Data Wizards and the rest of the product team Develop a consistent graphical look throughout the product Create content to personify the Tiendatek Coach PROFILE Passion for what we are building at Frogtek Absolutely stunning portfolio full of a wide range of visual styles Dedicated and strong attention to detail Strong time management and superb organizational skills Clear, concise, and transparent communication style Action-oriented, diligent, and flexible.
