User Interface Intern for Intelligent Industrial Applications Company OverviewSiemens Foundational Technology (FT) is the central R&D department of Siemens and thus has a key role to shape the future of our products. FT acts as a strategic partner to support the executive units of Siemens. In consequence the main research focus is on future technologies for industry, infrastructure, mobility, and healthcare. In this context we are looking for an Intern that supports our Software Systems and Processes team in Princeton, NJ by designing a User Interface for intelligent Industrial Applications.
Role SummaryIn this internship we are looking for a motivated and talented student with experience in Front-end Development to develop web-based applications that makes intelligent industrial solutions trustworthy. The internship provides unique experience to contribute to innovative industrial applications while mentored by experienced professionals in an international setting. The position is a fulltime position for at least 6 month and can be executed remotely.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain user-friendly web interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js).Conduct user research to gather insights and understand user needs, behaviors, and pain points.Collaborate with the design team to create intuitive and visually appealing user interfaces.Build interactive prototypes to evaluate and validate design concepts.Perform thorough testing and debugging to ensure high-quality, responsive, and cross-browser compatible web applications.Work closely with cross-functional teams, including back-end developers, designers, and product managers, to deliver seamless user experiences.Basic QualificationsCurrently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Web Development, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field (enrolled in college or University).Experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScriptExperience with React, Angular or Vue.jsFluent in English Preferred SkillsBasic knowledge of user research methodologies and UI/UX design principles.Experience with design tools like Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Effective communication and teamwork abilities.Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.Education and ExperienceRequired: Enrolled in Computer science or engineering bachelor program for computer science or engineering.Preferred: Enrolled in a master program or PhD program with the background in artificial intelligence, Human-Computer Interaction, computer science, or a related fieldWork setting The position does require the person to be in the United States of America and hold a valid work permit for the US
