Job Summary:
The Usher position at the Five Flags Center is responsible for greeting guests as they enter the building, scanning/checking guests tickets as they enter the building, and assisting to their designated seats. Ushers also provided guests information to other services around the facility; including restrooms, concessions, first-aid, and other event-specific locations. This is a part-time, event-based, hourly position may include days, nights, weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Greet and interact with all guests in a welcoming and friendly manner.
• Assist guests to their correct seats or to the appropriate seating section.
• Ensure that only guests with the proper ticket are sitting in assigned section.
• Answer guest questions regarding event and facility, e.g., location of section, restrooms, concession stand, first-aid, etc.
• Proactively approach guests that may have a question, difficulty, or complaint.
• Ensure guests are following all venue and event policies
• Keep aisles, concourses, and stairs clear of guests while event is in progress.
• Monitor assigned area(s) for spills or situation requiring staff attention and report accordingly.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to communicate clearly and have a friendly disposition
• Candidates must be able to stay calm in stressful and fast-paced environment of arena.
• Experience in handling conflict in a friendly and effective manner
• Understand written and spoken English.
• Must be able to communicate in a clear manner with guests and teammates.
• Ability to operate ticket scanners and radio devices
• Hours are based on event needs and will vary, as needed.
• Work hours are casual labor, seasonal and non-guaranteed and can include days, nights, weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to Remain calm and direct guests to the designated area of safety in the event of an emergency.
Physical Demands:
• Ability to stand for long periods of time required
• Must be able to navigate stairs in restricted lighting environments
• Ability to move quickly from one area to another in a safe manner
• Must be able to see and read small sized text on tickets (paper and electronic).
