BWXT is currently seeking both entry level and experienced UT Assembly Inspectors for its Lynchburg, VA location!

   

Job Description/Duties:

Performs ultrasonic inspection utilizing computerized and conventional equipment to assure that materials and components are in compliance with contract requirements. Must be able to read and understand working drawings. Other duties as assigned.

 

Job Qualifications/Requirements: 

Should meet one (1) of the following requirements: (3) years of manufacturing; OR (2) years of manufacturing and (1) year of college (or formal education); OR (1) year of manufacturing and (2) years of college (or formal education); OR a 4-year bachelor’s degree; OR (5) years of general work experience. Graduation from the Accelerated Training in Defense Manufacturing (ATDM) Non-destructive Testing program.  Military Service equivalent in pay grade E-6 or above with Navy Enlisted Classifications (NEC) as a Calibration Technician or service specific equivalent.  Verification of Military Experience and Training (VMET, DD Form 2586) and Job Qualification Requirement (JQR) documentation required when uploading resume. Manufacturing Technician Level 1 Certification (MT1) preferred. Quality Control and/or Non-Destructive (NDT) experience preferred. Must pass orientation, crane, and vision tests along with all necessary qualifications, i.e. forklift, UT scanning techniques, etc. Successful candidates will be required to complete work-keys assessments to include: Applied Math, Locating Information, and Reading for Information. Must pass orientation, crane, and vision tests along with all necessary qualifications, i.e. forklift, UT scanning techniques, etc. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with area personnel. Must work within standards specified by contract and/or internal procedures. Strong math skills are required. Will be required to read and understand calipers, rulers, scales, etc. Must be highly motivated, with a focus on attention to detail. Must be able to wear composite toe safety shoes. Must obtain Workkeys scores required for specific job. Must be a US Citizen with no dual citizenship. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.

The starting hourly rate for this position in Virginia (US-VA) is expected to be $30.09  per hour.  The anticipated rate following successful progression in the role is expected to be $35.82 per hour. The hourly rate offered is based on local job market factors and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement.  The company further reserves the right to modify the hourly rate (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation, or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or applicable department/team performance, and other market factors.

Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or matter. Position requires U.S. citizenship with (no dual citizenship) ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance which involves an extensive criminal and financial background investigation, drug test and previous employment reference verifications.
