**Job Title: Utilities & Building Fabric Technician**
**Job Description**
We are seeking a dedicated Utilities & Building Fabric Technician to maintain and operate our ammonia refrigeration system and associated equipment, including boilers, hot water heaters, HVAC units, air compressors, and other essential facility systems. This role involves performing a variety of maintenance tasks in plumbing, carpentry, painting, and electrical work to ensure the smooth operation of both the plant and office buildings.
**Responsibilities**
+ Maintain and operate the Ammonia refrigeration system and associated equipment, including boilers, hot water heaters, roof top HVAC units, air compressors, O-zone generation equipment, water softening equipment, Co-generation system, and fixed fire suppression systems.
+ Perform semi-specialized maintenance tasks in plumbing, carpentry, painting, cement applications, door repairs, building lighting, rooftop ventilation units, fire sprinkler piping repairs, building electrical, and utilities.
+ Monitor, adjust, and maintain the wastewater system and coordinate repairs of its components including cleaning, troubleshooting, electrical, and mechanical repairs.
+ Identify and procure parts, supplies, and services required to maintain assigned areas and shifts.
+ Conduct routine inspections of walls, floors, ceilings, insulation, piping, roof, parking lot, and wastewater system.
+ Perform minor electrical repairs, including the replacement or repair of fixtures using appropriate tools.
+ Replace or update inoperable or old building materials and appliances to provide a safe, comfortable working environment using various tools and materials.
+ Diagnose malfunctions or hidden defects in equipment and machinery and repair all assigned equipment.
+ Read wiring diagrams, blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
+ Enter data into the CMMS and update maintenance logs.
+ Implement measures to improve routine maintenance, production efficiencies, operational effectiveness, equipment performance, and safety.
**Essential Skills**
+ Experience operating ammonia refrigeration systems in accordance with established safety procedures, codes, and regulations.
+ Ability to diagnose and repair malfunctions in equipment and machinery.
+ Proficiency in reading wiring diagrams, blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
+ Experience with CMMS data entry and maintenance logs.
+ Understanding of steam principles and facility steam systems with the ability to troubleshoot pumps, valves, piping, and water treatment.
+ General knowledge of air systems, water systems, and fire protection systems.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Ability to read electrical schematics and layouts.
+ EPA Section 608 Universal Certification.
+ Proficiency in welding (Stick, MIG, TIG, Soldering/Brazing).
+ Certification of Qualification on ammonia refrigeration system, CO2 system, and PSM process.
+ Knowledge of storm water systems and water systems for processing food waste/debris.

**Work Environment**
You will be working indoors in an ambient temperature environment, with potential exposure to product-related dust, powder, and smoke. The role requires the use of various tools and equipment, such as welding equipment, power saws, hammers, drills, and more, to perform maintenance tasks.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, California.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $27.58 - $34.00/hr.
