Utilities Engineer

System One is seeking a Utilities Engineer for a direct hire role in Houston Tx.
The Utilities Engineer will monitor condition, ensure optimal & efficient performance, guide investment priority, lead change, implement enhancements and be responsible for the overall operational excellence of all plant related utilities for Monument Chemical. The Utilities Engineer will be supporting the Houston Area sites.

The following utility systems will fall under responsibility of Utilities Engineer: Fresh Water Make up, and Treatment, Cooling Water system, Steam generators and Distribution, Condensate collection and return, Waste Water system, Nitrogen, Fuel Gas Experience / Required Skills B.S. in Chemical Engineering or equivalent in science fields (e.g. Chemistry) PMP - Project Management Professional certification. 5+ years as plant utility engineering role with a comparable manufacturing facility. Strong knowledge of utility design, construction, and contract administration procedures. Knowledge of modern and effective engineering specifications, and state and federal regulations relating to utility systems. Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships and communicate effectively with the public, contractors, and other employees. Essential Functions / Key Accountabilities Identify and correct utility inefficiencies, limitations and make recommendations for utility expansion, if needed. Develops and maintains utility balances Supports and provides input to Capital projects Provide guidelines for troubleshooting or utilities savings opportunities. Identify and correct wastewater inefficiencies and limitations that could affect future growth. Identify any significant utility and process equipment/piping/tankage etc. that are nearing the end of their life cycle and should be considered for repairs/replacement/ upgrades. Multiyear capital planning. Strong knowledge of systems such as: Various water treatment processes, including filtration, Ion-Exchange, Steam boilers, De-Aerators, Steam Let downs and Distribution Condensate return Identify any systems that are in place that do not follow RAGAGEP and make recommendations to repair/replace/upgrade as needed. Reviews work of contracted engineering personnel involved in the design and review of utilities and related infrastructure and prepares cost estimates for projects. Review utilities contracts for long term agreements. Participates as a member of the organizational leadership team; researches, recommends and prepares policies, plans, concepts and future expansion.

Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force, exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 15 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force consistently to move objects forward, downward or outward. Pulling. Using upper extremities to exert up to 25 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 15 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force consistently to draw, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion. Lifting. Raising objects up to 25 pounds occasionally, and/or up to 15 pounds frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds consistently from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position. Grasping. Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm. Possible subject to environmental conditions. Activities could occur inside and outside. Subject to extreme heat. Temperatures above 100 for periods of more than one hour. Subject to vibration. Exposure to movements of the extremities or whole body. Operate/drive utility vehicle. Subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals. Must be able to wear appropriate PPE for tasks as required. FRC uniform, hard hat, safety toe work boots, safety glasses, gloves etc. $120k-$130k
