This is a 3-4-year competency-based Maintenance Technician Development program. This program has been developed to meet the needs for qualified Maintenance Technicians in the Lafayette, IN facility, through on-the-job training and an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) study program. The trainee will be assigned to a variety of training stations with specific learning activities throughout the facility that pertain to their skill path, and will rotate between first, second and third shifts as needed to complete learning requirements. Upon successful completion of the program, the trainee will be given the opportunity to become a level 6 Maintenance Technician within Facilities Engineering.

The applicant will be required to take classes at a local community college to acquire a technical certificate during the program. The applicant will also be required to work all shifts IE: first, second & third during the Maintenance Training Development program, work at heights, climb ladders, work underground, and in confined spaces. They should be willing to work overtime, such as weekends, holidays and shutdowns and must not be colorblind. It is incumbent that the applicant takes the lead in his or her own learning by working within the ILP and the tradesmen. Successful candidate will graduate the Maintenance Technician Development program to a 2nd or 3rd shift opening to be determined later.

Basic Qualifications:

Strong computer hardware, network and software skills and knowledge.Basic mechanical/electrical skills, hydraulics, pneumatics

Physical Requirements:

Candidates for all positions must have the ability to work in a fast pace, medium to heavy duty assembly, technical environment. Must pass colorblind testWork may involve frequent bending, stooping, and kneeling, twisting, turning, climbing, and standing on concrete for 8+ hours. All positions also require the ability to lift 40 pounds and withstand frequent repetitive movement of hands with a variety of tooling.Must be able to work in heights and confined spaces

Location of this position is in Lafayette, INRelocation assistance is not available for this position. Summary Pay Range:

$29.40 - $37.40
