Responsibilities
In this role, you will provide technical support and project coordination for an operating department within Utilities Division. You’ll utilize a broad range of engineering skills on design, installation, operation, maintenance and ongoing improvements to Eastman’s Kingsport facility’s utility systems. You will support systems such as steam and electric power systems and production, water treatment processes, refrigeration systems, compressed air systems, incineration processes, wastewater systems, utility distribution systems and condensate systems as well as all other utility systems plantwide as needed.
Design, install, operate, maintain and provide ongoing improvement support to the plant utility systems and equipment in assigned areas Partner closely with operations, maintenance, manufacturing supervision, contract engineering, project engineers, project managers, construction forces and Plant Engineering staff to assist manufacturing units in meeting maintenance and production objectives Support Utilities Division in the design and installation of various utility projects, including: engineering studies, equipment/instrument specification and selection, capital project support, project estimating, technical field support of utility systems and equipment, project scope documentation and definition and coordination of projects in operations on utility systems. Regularly use digital tools such as SIEGA, PI, SharePoint in addition to the Microsoft suite Regularly read and use P&IDs, equipment drawings and use of field notes in search of underground drawings Complete all duties in a safe manner
Qualifications
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering required 2+ years of relevant engineering experience required; 5+ years of engineering experience preferred PE License preferred General engineering experience in steam and power generation, piping, pump design and operation, mechanical integrity, refrigeration and heat transfer systems, steam distribution, incineration, water and waste water treatment, compressors, HVAC and condensate collection preferred Experience in utility systems and/or maintenance preferred Good personal communications and people skills, customer focused and self-motivated Experience with design, drafting, field verification, installation, troubleshooting and problem solving in an industrial setting preferred Ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate multi-discipline projects Ability to make decisions under uncertainty and drive projects to completion with minimal guidance
