Location Description Michael foods, Inc. located in Britt, Iowa where more eggs are produced within a 100 mile radius than anywhere in the world. Small town living and friendly faces make Britt, Iowa a place to call home. Our location is an egg processing flacility that varies from breaking, pasteurization, and dried egg. Join our company and be part of an innovative team that's First in Food. Responsibilities SUMMARY: Repair, install and troubleshoot refrigeration systems throughout the plant. This position has the responsibility to comply with Safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation to reinforce Safety as a Core Value. Ensures that all policies, procedures and activities, related to Food Safety & Quality, are followed and complied with uniformly, in an effort to reduce product and process variability. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Maintain engine room and boiler equipment. 2. Monitor and chart all freezer and cooler temperatures. 3. Run daily boiler and condenser water tests. 4. Maintain and PM all air conditioning and ventilation equipment. 5. Maintain and PM all air compressors. 6. Maintain and PM all sanitation pumps. 7. Maintain compliance with PSM and RMP programs. 8. Learn the technical skills to become a proficient Refrigeration Mechanic to be able to operator, repair, and PM all systems. 9. Ability to work weekends, holidays, and added hours when needed. 10. Adheres to safe work practices, follows GMP’s, maintains sanitary conditions and ensures that product quality is maintained. Reports to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety. 11. Adheres to all safety policies and procedures. 12. Ensures regulatory compliance at all times. 13. Performs other duties as assigned. 14. Monitoring and evaluating waste water effluent to meet DNR standards 15. Monitor and maintain NH3 ammonia refrigeration system (2 years experience preferred) Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPEREINCE REQUIRED: EDUCATION: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent. EXPERIENCE: 2 years or more experience in refrigeration or similar job description. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distances. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
