Utility Aide
Job Title: Utility Aide
Job Description

Assist with plant cleanliness and organization by implementing LEAN principles. Perform various tasks to support 5S initiatives, such as constructing shop aids, applying labels, painting, taping, and interfacing with department personnel for continuous improvement efforts.

ResponsibilitiesConstruct shop aids such as cutting wedges, boxes, and trays to support 5S initiatives.Apply labels, paint, and tape to flooring, shop aids, and other equipment to assist in department organization.Actively interface with department personnel regarding continuous improvement efforts, including cost-saving and safety improvements.Cut lightweight pipe and wood pieces, assemble with brackets, fittings, and castors, and deliver the finished component to the department as needed.Assist in the design of various fixtures, shop aids, and tables as requested.Install and maintain floor coatings.Essential SkillsExperience using hand and power tools (minimum 6 months).Ability to lift and maneuver 30-50 lbs.Capability to bend, stoop, kneel, lift, and walk throughout the shift.Additional Skills & QualificationsCustodial, handyman, or facilities maintenance experience.Familiarity with LEAN Manufacturing principles.Experience with construction, painting, repairing, facility maintenance, or large part assembly.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

The Utility Aide will work throughout various areas, including hallways, office spaces, and the manufacturing floor. On the manufacturing floor, employees may be exposed to dust, loud noises, and fumes. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portland, Oregon.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
