Job Description:

Overview

This position is responsible for providing design support to engineers for site/commercial and residential land development projects.

Responsibilities

Utilize basic ArcGIS functions in daily workCoordinate and communicate with project team in creating Electrical and Gas Subdivision Designs to meet overall project objectives and deadlines (for CPS Energy)Prepare and/or revise construction and planning documents as well as exhibits within company standards from redlines for a variety of projectsAbility to follow and implement Pape-Dawson QA/QC and agency checklists into construction documentsAnalyze sketches, notes and other input material to determine and plan the best approach to develop and complete drawingsInform Project Manager(s) of progress on assigned projects and request work when neededMaintain organized work area to allow access of project information by other team membersFlexible in work assignments and team assignmentsProficient in Microsoft Office Package, including word processing, spreadsheets, database, presentation software, electronic mail and schedulingApply for utility permits, as needed

Qualifications

Detail oriented with high level of accuracyEffective communication and interpersonal skills; ability to develop and maintain professional relationshipsMust be flexible to changes in work assignments on short notice and/or on a daily basis as changes occur in project needsMust be able to work Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm, with occasional overtime as neededWorking knowledge of:ArcGISCPS Energy enterprise ArcGISElectric distribution design standardsGas distribution design standardsAsset & resource management (ARM)

Preferred Qualifications

Associate’s degree in computer-Aided Design, Geographic Information Systems, or other associate’s degree in civil engineering emphasisWorking knowledge of:Civil construction documents
