Title:  Utility Distribution Auditor
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Reports To: Regional Supervisor
Effective: 03/2024

Salary Range: $16.50-$25 per hour depending on experience.

We keep the lights on anywhere there’s a power line - whether in the city, the rural countryside, or deep in the remote forest. As a Utility Distribution Auditor, you’ll keep communities informed about the trees and power lines, while ensuring safe delivery of their power and pursuing opportunities to develop sustainable habitat throughout the utility right-of-way. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCITONS:

Obtain circuit closure documentation from tree contractorInspect all work performed by the vegetation contractors to ensure completed work meets utility's standards within 30 days of work completionEnsure line clearance contractor's work adheres to the client and industry safety standards and best management practicesIncluding section of a circuit delayed by Line Clearance Contractor due to permit or access restrictionsReview circuit closure documentation to ensure accuracyDocument and report deficienciesReinspect deficiencies through completionNotify utility of damaged electrical equipment/facilitiesProvide weekly written and electronic reports of inspection resultsUtilize data collection systems to support and report findingsPerform other duties as assigned, including but not limited to: Validate trims/removals; Validate priority tree data; Assess herbicide effectiveness; incorporate priority trees and circuit concerns into work planning software

REQUIREMENTS:

Experience working on tree trimming or clearing crews and/or has successfully completed applicable performance reviews preferredPossesses excellent leadership skills and be able to handle stressful situations along with being able to multi-taskHas a basic knowledge of trees, including identification, growth habits and correct arboricultural techniques for the trimming, pruning, repairing, maintaining and removing, as applies to working in close proximity to energized conductorsKnows and understands the American National Standards for Tree Care Operations (ANSI Z133.1-2000)Has a basic knowledge of electrical circuit and must be skilled in the reading and understanding of circuit mapsAbility to communicate professionally, both verbal and in writing, with the general public, customers, and fellow employeesCompletes and passes an approved customer relations course and have an understanding of all approved work methods that apply to positionValid driver’s license with clean driving recordAbility to work independentlyStrong verbal and written communications skillsExcellent customer service skills a priorityAbility to travel and work in rugged terrain and inclement weatherProficient in map navigation skillsExperience with Microsoft Office and data collection software (GIS experience a plus)
