Role - Utility Engineer
Business Unit - Mars Wrigley
Location - Pune

Job Purpose:

Utilities Engineer will take the ownership of operational management and delivery of all utility’s services delivered within his location. This includes the management of customer interface within the designated area; ensuring efficient service delivery for day­ to-day running of the sites, and provision of a consistent strong link with internal customers, guaranteeing appropriate and responsive reaction to address any and all internal stake-holders concerns.

The Utilities Engineer is responsible for maintenance and engineering activities in the Utilities area which include Chillers, HVAC, Boilers, DG sets, Electrical Infra, Air compressors, Fuel farm, WTP, ETP,STP, RO Plant, fire detection and suppression systems, etc,. He/she is an active member of the local engineering team and support to achieve the site SiG targets.

What will be your key responsibilities?  

Support a team of Utility technician to provide maximum availability and running at optimum efficiency within Utility system.

Ensure team is strictly following all Safety, Q&FS, Sustainability, HACCP, Local regulations and ISO requirements.

SPOC for asset conservation compliance.

Oversees the deployment of facilities O&M in order to ensure compliance and contribute to an optimum environment

Facilitation and co-ordination of all reactive (breakdown) works at factory and set priorities of works in shifts

Providing first line technical leadership, guidance and support for his team

Plan and schedule all maintenance activities to ensure compliance to master maintenance plan

Accountable to organize and implement all planned and unplanned maintenance activities on time with required quality

All works should be organized to fully satisfy all requirements from Value stream

Prioritize Simultaneous problems

Periodically measure and analyze Utility KPIs, collaborate with the team to comeback with action plans and improvements

Responsible for Utility Maintenance and Energy Budget where he / she needs to plan, prepare forecast for the total year budget, track and control the spend on periodic basis

Leading daily morning meetings and ensure proper actions are taken to address the issues in accordance with site standards

Support and cooperate with Technical Manager with implementing new maintenance systems

Ensure projects are executed in line with Mars Global Standards and delivered according to the needs of the unit’s business plans.

Understand and apply the Mars Global Best Practices and Standards relevant to utility maintenance and projects; connect with the regional engineering team to check compliance to the standards.

Negotiate with annual maintenance contracts and engineering companies (in close cooperation with Commercial) to agree on service, delivery timelines, price and performance requirements

Updating of all relevant documentation and drawings resulting from the project work.

Planning and organization of equipment related training for Mars technical and operational associates.

Responsible for ensuring all required legal documentation for existing and new equipment is completed on timely basis.

Drive continuous improvement and value leadership in existing systems.

Maintain an appropriate supplier network and keep up-to-date with industry developments.

Responsible for procurement and assessment of engineering spares from reliable and approved source

Support and drive value leadership programme for site technical team

Observe and promote all regulatory requirements as defined per applicable regulations, rules and procedures established by the Company, and notifies any violation or deviation to the immediate supervisor or appropriate authority

  What are we looking for?  

BE (Electrical/Mechanical) with 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in Utility maintenance and Engineering

Experience on utility equipment operation and maintenance from FMCG manufacturing is preferred

Thorough understanding of factory utilities and statutory requirements

Experience of dealing with facility management company, engineering companies and equipment suppliers
