This person supervises the installation, maintenance and repair of the sewer conveyance system; Plans, coordinates, and assigns work; Conducts safety training; and reviews worksites for OSHA compliance. Essential Functions Essential functions include but are not limited to: + Supervises a crew involved in the installation, repair, cleaning and maintenance of the wastewater collection system, including manholes, gravity mains, and force mains. + Utilizes system plans and equipment to locate existing facilities. + Maintains time, equipment, and material records; prepares reports. + Instructs crew on proper safety standards and work expectations; counsels and prepares documents on employee performance. + Transports crews to work sites. + Climbs ladders and stairs; bends, pushes, pulls, stoops and lifts up to 75 lbs.; stands for extended time periods; confined space entry may be required. + Work requires supervising and monitoring performance for employees in a work unit, including providing input on hiring/disciplinary actions, work objectives/effectiveness, and realigning work as needed. + Requires ability to operate a standard transmission vehicle. Education/Experience Work requires knowledge necessary to understand basic operational, technical, or office processes. Level of knowledge equivalent to four years of high school or equivalency. More than four years utility maintenance/repair/construction experience. Additional Information & Requirements Valid Virginia driver's license required, commercial driver's license preferred.
