Utility Operator - 3rd Shift (11PM - 7:30AM) Manufacturing, Life Sciences

The Utility Operator’s role is to follow the proper steps to achieve an acceptable product while following quality specifications and guidelines. This position is designed to be flexible to accommodate the needs of each shift and department and requires skill in multiple operations. The utility operator is required to work in many different hourly positions as the needs of the company dictate, including leading the shift as needed. The purpose and scope of each job worked is as outlined in that specific position description. Individuals in this position will be fully trained in all jobs relevant to the shift. Training will be accomplished on the current shift or other shifts as appropriate. Qualifications are as stated in each job position description and apply to the shift utility • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) • Mathematical and measuring skills • 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment required • The ability to read, write and follow verbal and written instructions in the English language • The ability to read and understand work orders and product specifications -• The ability to lead the shift and collaborate with other shifts to meet business needs and engage the operations, team, as a back-up lead. Ability to efficiently and respectfully communicate production needs. • Ability to see defects at close range • Ability to read measuring devices such as rulers, scales, tape measures, pin gauges, vernier calipers, micrometers. -• Qualifications are as stated in each job position description and apply to the shift utility operator when working that job: the areas you would work in are: assembly, extrusion, custom compounding and the warehouse. • Basic knowledge of the Microsoft Office package is required (Outlook, Word, Excel), basic knowledge of ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) is required, knowledge of QAD/MRP is preferred. • Ability to work and communicate in a respectful way in a collaborative environment. • Control Precision - The ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine to exact positions to achieve specifications. • Finger Dexterity - The ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects. • Ability to work in a respectful way in a collaborative environment. • Ability to work as a team to meet goals/KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators). -• Arm-Hand Steadiness - The ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position. • Manual Dexterity - The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects. • Reaction Time - The ability to quickly respond (with the hand, finger, or foot) to a signal (sound, light, picture) when it appears.when working that job.
