The Utility Operator’s role is to follow the proper steps to achieve an acceptable product while following quality specifications and guidelines. This position is designed to be flexible to accommodate the needs of each shift and department and requires skill in multiple operations. The utility operator is required to work in many different hourly positions as the needs of the company dictate, including leading the shift as needed. The purpose and scope of each job worked is as outlined in that specific position description. Individuals in this position will be fully trained in all jobs relevant to the shift. Training will be accomplished on the current shift or other shifts as appropriate. Qualifications are as stated in each job position description and apply to the shift utility • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) • Mathematical and measuring skills • 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment required • The ability to read, write and follow verbal and written instructions in the English language • The ability to read and understand work orders and product specifications -• The ability to lead the shift and collaborate with other shifts to meet business needs and engage the operations, team, as a back-up lead.
