Utility Operator - Plant Operations (2nd Shift)
**Job Description** GENERAL PURPOSE Perform job duties within the manufacturing environment to provide relief for planned (vacation, break) and unexpected absences to ensure the continual production of product. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES · Clean, set-up, operate, and monitor equipment on the production line · Ensure that the proper materials are used for each product being produced · Complete all required documentation and quality checks · Record and document all production runs, downtime, weights, code dates, and label verifications · Review charts, screens, quality check sheets, and specifications that are in both hard copy and electronic format · Perform cleaning and sanitation tasks on equipment in both manual and automated capacities · Prepare equipment for next run to include size changes as needed · Troubleshoot and resolve basic to moderate operating difficulties · Maintain communication with other departments, supervisor, and employees and notify them of any problems and/or concerns that may restrict the efficiency of production · Ensure all paperwork is filled out in a clear, legible, and accurate format and completed with required information. Ensure all required information is documented in accordance with SOP’s · Review process data and equipment performance data to improve quality, throughput, and troubleshoot · Report any food safety and food quality related issues to management immediately · Maintain safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety issues · Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements · The requirements herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employee, but is not a complete list of responsibilities, duties, and skills required. Other duties may be assigned as required **Requirements** EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE · High school diploma or equivalent preferred · Production or general work experienced preferred · Certification and/or License – may be required during course of employment KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES · Knowledge of plant operations · Able to operate production equipment, components, and peripheral accessories · Able to effectively work in a team environment · Able to follow directions and carry out instructions · Able to legibly write entries for record keeping · Able to take appropriate steps to find solutions to problems · Able to perform task and duties under general supervision · Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals · Must be able to read, write and speak English An Equal Opportunity Employer **Pay Range** 22.00
