SUMMARY:
Join our team as a Utility Roof Technician, where you'll play a crucial role in maintaining and optimizing our filter systems and related equipment. You'll ensure smooth operations by performing thorough inspections, cleaning, and minor repairs, while also keeping the roof and air systems in top condition. Your ability to identify potential maintenance issues and perform basic sheet metal fabrication will be key. This role offers a dynamic work environment with responsibilities ranging from EPA inspections to snow plowing, making every day unique and engaging. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Checks for proper operation of filter system, bin-vent systems, and roof fansChecks and cleans all roof drainsCheck hose cart houses/hose stations in the plantCleans roof and all scrap material and excess sawdust from blow-oversClean all blower filters on roof and inside plant that are associated with the dust collection systemEPA inspection and record keeping dailyPerform minor repairs to filter system, vinyl roof systemProvide backup for snow plowingAssists crews on clean-up of larger blow-oversReports any irregularities found on the roof and related equipmentClean windows and screens in roof arrearsOccasionally directs filter changing crewsResponsible for cleaning and storage of filter bagsChecks top of vinyl silosRequired to check roof for snow buildupAbility to learn a variety of basic Tin Shop dutiesSome lifting required in checking roofShovels sawdustOccasionally – Squat, crawl, crawl, lifts very heavy materialOccasionally directs work of Waste Wood ControllerPrevent cuts and bruises to other associates while doing cleanup of large blow-overs and changing filter bagsGenerally works alonePrevent minor cuts and bruises to other associates by careful use of tools and handing of equipmentQUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
Must know how to make minor repair work to filter systems, related equipment, vinyl roof systems and hose reelsProficient knowledge of filter system grid and sequence for filter system blower/pumps for material flow Perform a controlled start up shut down of the entire filter systemMust be familiar with all roof areasMust know what to do in case of fire on the roofMust be knowledgeable of fire extinguishersMust be familiar with tools used to performance to Tin Shop dutiesMust have a working knowledge of Grecon system and how to operatePHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS SUMMARY:

In 2024, Andersen has set a profit-sharing target of $4,000 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate. Profit sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.
