Utility Specialist II - South County Reginal Water Treatment Plant Print (https://www.governmentjobs.com/careers/collier/jobs/newprint/4639426) Apply  Utility Specialist II - South County Reginal Water Treatment Plant Salary $22.18 - $24.40 Hourly Location Naples, FL Job Type Full Time, Regular Job Number 08982 Department Public Utilities Department Division Water Opening Date 11/01/2024 Closing Date 11/7/2024 11:59 PM Eastern + Description + Benefits + Questions Job Summary Reposted 11/1 -11/7 Essential Functions • Performs skilled manual labor work in the construction, maintenance, and repair of utilities water treatment plants, including a variety of manual labor tasks. • Performs various tasks involving water utilities maintenance projects. • Maintains buildings, machinery, and pipes at water plants and outlying stations; troubleshoots routine electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and other plant problems; performs pigging/swabbing at wellfields and flushes the system; repairs, maintains, calibrates, and tests equipment; performs wellfield drawdowns; resets telemetry systems; removes and replaces high service and chemical pumps; operates belt presses and flushes sludge lines. • Follows safety procedures, utilizes safety equipment, and monitors work environment to ensure safety of employees and other individuals. • Prepares, completes and/or receives various forms, reports, correspondence, checklists, work orders, billing reports, purchase requisitions, valve isolation forms, valve maintenance forms, water line damage reports, water loss reports, backflow test/inspection reports, backflow installation reports, data recorder sheets, pump activity reports, lift station sheets, maintenance reports, charts, timecards, leave requests, or other documents. Minimum Qualifications • High school diploma or GED* required. • One (1) year of related experience. • Fingerprinting Required. *General Educational Development (GEDs) must be issued by the American Council on Education through an approved GED Administrator. For Florida, the approved GED Administrator would be the Florida Department of Education (public schools or adult education centers). LICENSES/CERTIFICATES • Must complete the Sacramento Water Distribution Operator correspondence course within 6 months of hire. • Must possess and maintain a valid Class 3 Water Distribution Systems Operator License within 18 months of hire. • Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License with any applicable endorsement(s) to drive a County vehicle as provided in CMA 5805.
