A well-established municipal water treatment facility in Conneaut Lake, PA is seeking a Utility Worker to join their team. This is a hands-on opportunity ideal for someone with prior mechanical or utility experience—or a recent graduate who is mechanically inclined and eager to learn a skilled trade. ResponsibilitiesLifting 70 pounds, bending over, kneeling and working with your hands.
Maintaining pump stations, treatment plant, mowing and keeping a clean work area.
Collecting and testing waste water samples and collecting samples for the contracted lab.
Inspect and maintain all equipment.
Able to operate skid steer, snowplow, lawn tractors and other misc. equipment.
Successful candidate will need to have/acquire the skills to maintain and rebuild a variety of pumps.
Some electrical experience is necessary, successful candidate will need to have/acquire knowledge working with single phase and 3 phase 240 volt electrical systems.
Must be able to work in confined areas, pits, manholes, ditches, tanks, etc.
Must have clear communication skills in order to communicate with supervisor, co-workers and customers in a clear concise manner, English is the primary language.
Must be able to work rotating on-call weekend shift schedule as needed and work efficiently with little or no supervision.
Must be able to safely work with chemicals.
Successful candidate will be responsible for attending and passing work related training courses as needed.
Qualifications and SkillsMust be able to pass drug test and have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Be able to clearly write daily reports and keep accurate records.
Willingness to work in wet, dirty environments.
Some call out during the week/weekend will be required.
Ability to perform long periods of standing, reaching and bending.
Must be able to communicate with PA DEP / EPA and understand the requirements.
Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Have a waste water certification or be able to acquire one within two years of employment. Certifications need to be Class B E, Subclass 2 & 4, other certifications may be required.
