**Job Title: Utility Worker**
**Job Description**
The Utility Worker is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas. This role includes washing dishes, pots, and cleaning work tables, walls, refrigerators, and meat blocks. The Utility Worker will also sweep, mop, clean, and vacuum floors, remove trash and garbage, transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas, clean equipment using specific chemicals to ensure sanitary standards, and polish silver.
**Responsibilities**
+ Wash dishes by hand or place them in a dishwashing machine.
+ Wash pots and clean work tables, walls, refrigerators, and meat blocks.
+ Sweep, mop, clean, and vacuum floors.
+ Remove trash and garbage to designated areas.
+ Transfer supplies and equipment within and between storage and work areas such as the pantry and dish room.
+ Clean equipment using specific chemicals to ensure sanitary standards.
+ Polish silver.
**Essential Skills**
+ 1-3 years of utility/dishwashing experience in a high-volume restaurant or facility.
+ Experience in foodservice and hospitality.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Familiarity with food preparation.

**Work Environment**
The work environment includes various shifts (1st & 2nd), determined by a shift bid due to the unionized nature of the site. The Utility Worker will be working part-time hours.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Washington, District of Columbia.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $17.50/hr.
