Utility Worker

Job Description

Responsible for the overall cleaning of the plant, offices, and deep cleaning other assigned areas. May also assist with production as required.

Job Responsibilities & Requirements

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Clean the plant, office, and all other assigned areas to meet standards required for operations.Assist production as assigned and directed.Follow oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved, replaced or re-ordered.Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand or forklift.Lift heavy objects by hand or with power hoist, and deep clean work area, machines, and equipment to assist machine operators.Attendance at work during the regularly scheduled shift is an essential duty.  This includes, but is not limited to the ability to work overtime as required, to be present at work, arrive on time and be at the work station ready for work at the start of the shift.Perform other duties as assigned.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous forklift experience preferred but not required.Language Skills: Effectively communicate with co-workers and management regarding work and safety issues.Computer Skills: Some PC skills helpful, but not required.Other Skills and Abilities: Read a tape measure.
