Role Summary: As an UW Assistant I, you will be using systems to plan, coordinate and complete a high volume of transactions (e.g., obtaining, updating information and managing account documentation such as proposals, internal risk evaluation documents, etc.), in support of our Customer, Agency representatives or Underwriting. Your job is to make it easy to get things done by providing fast, high-quality service.

You will be responsible for prepping business issues, essential services, direct support to the Agents and internal business partners. You may communicate with Agents or Underwriters to obtain needed and required information, while using multiple programs to obtain, process, and update the information. This is primarily a non-phone position.  

Location: This position is located in San Antonio, TX and is 100% in office

Start Date: April 21, 2025

Training Hours/Post Training Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:45am-5:30pm CST

Training Time Frame: 4 Weeks

Base pay is $23 per hour with the opportunity for growth.

QUALIFICATIONS:​

Three years of relevant work experience in complex customer service, insurance, retail, sales or call center High School Diploma or equivalent experience requiredStrong attention to detail. Experience with strong desk managementCritical thinking skills with the ability to understand the needs of our customers and business partners and using your knowledge and resources to create the best solutionAbility to work in a fast-paced environment while navigating multiple programs and effectively use on-line resources​Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills​Ability to empathize with customers and colleaguesAdaptability

We also prefer but do not require: ​

Prior experience interactions with independent insurance agents a plusUnderstanding of Small Commercial productsOffice experience​Spanish-English bilingual a plus​

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$42,560 - $63,840
