The Disney Entertainment & ESPN Technology Design team is responsible for the design work supporting all consumer-facing and business products & tooling across sports, entertainment, enterprise, UX, creative services and design research. This mission includes delivering brand-specific consumer experiences, building cohesive user journeys within a product family, partnering across Product, Engineering, and other business partners, and working with Design team members directing rapid visual concepts, producing high fidelity visual design. We are a multi-disciplinary design team where you’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with many design groups and specialties to create innovative products that people love to use.
What You Will Do
An internship with the Disney Entertainment & ESPN Technology Design team will give you exposure and experience with our process for delivering design innovation at Disney. You will work with our team of designers and design leadership to support the conceptual efforts for Hulu & Disney+, and for some of the most trusted and beloved brands in the world - ABC, ABC News, Disney, ESPN, Freeform, FX, Marvel, National Geographic and Star Wars.
Work on one or more projects with guidance from our design team from the ground up, culminating in a presentation to the entire Disney Entertainment & ESPN Technology Design team
Participate in team meetings, design critiques and one-on-one conversations with various members of the team
Present ideas for innovation in any of the digital products we support
Support the design team with day-to-day design tasks and deliverables
Required Qualifications & Skills
Strong knowledge of design tools such as Figma, Sketch, and Adobe Creative Suite
You have a strong understanding of user-centered design principles and best practices
You are a self-motivated problem solver and great communicator
You have a strong work ethic, are reliable, adaptable, and work well with others
You have an interest in and aptitude for learning new technologies and design skills
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
Proficiency in data analysis and analytical thinking
Strong ability to multi-task and context-switch with ease in a fast-paced, and ever-evolving organization
Process-drive and extremely detail-oriented
Experience designing high-quality experiences and user flows across app and web
Ability to design within brand guides and contribute to design language

Education
Junior or Senior year preferred
Pursuing a bachelor's degree in User Experience Design, Interaction Design, Industrial Design, Psychology, Information Architecture, and Visual Communication or related major preferred
Eligibility Requirements & Program Information
Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program AND returning to school the semester/quarter following the internship OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.
Be at least 18 years of age
Possess unrestricted work authorization
Additional Information
Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship
Fully available from Monday-Friday PST for the duration of the internship, 40 hours each week
Able to provide own housing for the duration of the internship program in the Glendale, CA area
Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work
The pay rate for this role in Glendale, CA $35.00 per hour.
