This position will work on real-world projects, bringing a renewed focus on usability, accessibility, and inclusive design to our enterprise software products. As part of Hubbell Utility Solutions, your role will be to improve the user experience of software products that support the every day jobs of utility employees across the globe. The Hubbell Internship Program is a 10 to 12-week program providing students the opportunity to gain corporate experience, learn about all aspects of our business, and prepare students with the kind of experience needed to have a rewarding career at Hubbell. A Day In The Life Every day at Hubbell is different and you’ll contribute in many ways. On any given day, you’ll make a difference by: + Conduct generative and evaluative research on how customers use our software and hardware products in the field + Work with various teams to design, implement, and verify user interfaces and workflows for massively scalable enterprise software applications + Assist with user research and analysis, user feedback sessions, and usability testing + Working in teams and with colleagues in a professional environment. + Provide opportunities for professional development by building relationships and learning about other parts of the business. + Provide a presentation to the local management team at the end of the program. + Assist with process improvement. + Manage multiple projects with overlapping tasks and working independently with minimal supervision. + Provide support and assistance to co-workers as appropriate. What will help you thrive in this role? + Enrollment in an accredited university working towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors Engineering, Computer Science, Technical Communications, Information Science, Information Architecture, User Experience Design, Behavioral Science, Social Sciences, or related field (required) + Have a current portfolio of projects demonstrating designs and processes (student work is acceptable) (required) + Experience with Figma (required) + Experience with user research methods (required) + Minimum 3.0 GPA (required) + Experience with Microsoft Office products preferred.
