Transforming our business to deliver on that future is at the heart of our Design mission. **Your role and responsibilities** As an IBM Z Designer, your focus will be on meeting individual and team objectives, learning your craft, contributing to the design of a product and learning about IBM and IBM Design practices. Generally, your efforts will be concentrated around a single product in your business area, with guidance and feedback from a more senior designer or design leader. You will also contribute to the design community by supporting community activities, sharing, learning or maintaining a part of the community operation. As designers, we focus on ensuring the experiences we create meet the needs of our customers and end users and strive for design excellence in our work. You will apply a user-centered perspective to your design work and advocate for the customer / end user in all interactions with your teammates and colleagues. At times you may also engage with customers or other users of the product in the design process. **Required technical and professional expertise** * 2+ years defining scenarios and user flows based on research insights. * 2+ years creating wireframes and prototypes based on a clear understanding of end users and in accordance with interaction design principles. * 2+ years experience working with Figma and other common design tools. * Demonstrated experience collaborating with research teams to understand core problems to be solved in design. * Ability to grow domain knowledge by learning the value proposition of a product, its market position, the basics of its technologies and how it’s used by our customers. * Strong advocacy for user experience and value. * Strong presentation skills. **Preferred technical and professional experience** * Deep experience conducting usability tests, heuristic evaluations and other design research methods * Expertise in user-centric design practices, such as design thinkin * Experience working in an Agile development environmen * Foundational knowledge in leading technologies, such as chatbots, AI, Machine Learning, etc * Familiarity with accessibility guidelines and principles (e.g., WCAG) * Strong understanding of applications and architectures within the z/OS environment. * Experience in developing applications on the z/OS platform, as well as experience and familiarity of the z/OS environment, tools, and development practices
