UX Researcher , Amazon
Japan Consumer Innovation (JCI) team is seeking a passionate UX Researcher to champion the voice of our customers throughout the product development lifecycle. In this role, you'll drive customer-backwards thinking by conducting both qualitative and quantitative research to uncover deep customer insights and transform them into actionable recommendations. Working closely with product, engineering, design, and go-to-market teams, you'll identify and prioritize critical business challenges, shape product roadmaps, and ensure exceptional user experiences across the entire customer journey. The ideal candidate will excel at delivering high-quality research outputs, building strong stakeholder relationships, and creating a robust research ecosystem that drives data-informed decision-making. Your work will directly influence product strategy and design decisions, making you instrumental in building first-class vendor experiences at Amazon Japan.



Key job responsibilities
Research Expertise

-Design and execute comprehensive research strategies using both qualitative and quantitative methods
-Develop innovative approaches to understand customer (e.g, vendor) needs through field studies, surveys, personas, and lab research
-Create and maintain research roadmaps aligned with product lifecycle needs

Data & Insights

-Transform diverse data sources into actionable insights
-Establish meaningful UX quality metrics for features and products
-Deliver thorough analysis that drives product decisions

Stakeholder Partnership

-Collaborate with product, program, and design teams to identify critical research opportunities
-Communicate findings effectively across functions (design, engineering, go to marketing, business)
-Advocate for customer needs in product development decisions

Impact & Innovation

-Identify and implement the most effective research methods for each challenge
-Regular review and refinement of research priorities to ensure business relevance
