ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Math proficiency—keep accurate documentation of hatch percentages calculated by flockOrganizational skills—prepare paperwork associated with chick book-out for both hatchery and grower usageCommunication—daily with hatchery management as well as other team membersCorrespondence with sister hatchery Assist in monitoring chick readiness prior to hatch and make machine temperature adjustments if necessaryParticipate in daily setting of eggs into incubators—pallet jack experience preferredPerform and monitor daily chick counts of at least once per hour Adaptability to chick processing times / changes in chick delivery scheduleConfirm accurate egg settings to ensure correct hatch percentagesResponsible for preparing and mixing daily vaccine for day old chicksKeep accurate inventory of day old vaccine, as well as monitoring in-ovo vaccine usageLoad and unload full Smithway dollies onto chick trailer for haulAssist in clean-up after processingOther Duties as assigned

 

 

EXPERIENCE: Entry level; Production experience preferred.
