Vaccine New Product Planning Leader

Sanofi Vaccines is a leader in Vaccines, with a world class vaccine portfolio. The New Product planning team works with the entire Vaccines organization to help shape the strategy and pipeline for the future, and plays a key role in the transformation of Sanofi Vaccines, as part of the Global Franchise and Product Strategy organization. We are currently a New Product Planning Leader, who will report to the Head of Global Vaccines New Products and Innovation. The NPP Leader will play a key role in three areas of the vaccines business: development of the vaccines landscape assessment and strategy, commercial input on assessments of new products, and commercial leadership across multiple global project teams for products moving from pre-clinical stages through early development and commercialization. The NPP leader will be expected to partner as needed with R&D, Business Development and M&A teams on all three core areas. On an ongoing basis, the NPP leader will represent their projects within the annual portfolio review, planning and budget cycles.

The position will be based in Bridgewater, NJ. Candidates in the Boston metropolitan area will be considered as well. Much of the candidates’ time will be spent working with global teams, but some time in office will be required, aligning with the direction in the US.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Actively partner with global project teams to provide robust commercial direction on pipeline planning and product development strategy and ensure appropriate early commercial planning and executionDevelop the commercial strategy for key assets, ensuring alignment with global business unit (GBU) goals and strategySupport development and execution of disease-area-strategy and ensure prioritization of internal and external growth opportunities in line with each disease-area-strategyDirect integrated market analysis and competitive intelligence investigations to identify current and future trends within key disease settings and across segments of the vaccine landscapeUnderstand and communicate requirements for regulatory approval (registration), access to market (pricing and reimbursement), and market differentiation required for the successful commercialization of new vaccinesLead the identification of key value drivers and translate these in the development of Target Product Profiles (TPP), value proposition elements and key decision criteria for commercial successTranslate key Insights from scientific experts (internal R&D colleagues + external opinion leaders) into clear, actionable strategies for the portfolioEnsure pre-launch strategy and activities in scope with NPP function is well coordinated Support the program teams throughout the governance process providing commercial leadership within the franchise, R&D and investment committeesWork with R&D, global commercial and market commercial colleagues to define and evolve disease areas/commercial areas of interest for Sanofi vaccinesLead or provide input to revenue forecast development for new product assessments and early stage vaccinesStrengthen cross-functional teams and the company by creating a winning spirit and by developing excellence-oriented and customer-focused culture, fostering innovation and building best in class teamsAnticipate and ensure smooth transition of all commercial deliverables and insights to the Global Brand Lead (GBL and brand team)

PROFILE

Undergraduate degree in business or science or related discipline required. An advanced degree (MS, MD, PhD or MBA) is preferredAt least 5 years of related experience in some combination of pharmaceutical marketing, new product planning, market access and/or strategy consultingSignificant experience in vaccines is preferred, and experience across a range of therapeutic areas is a plusAbility to develop and implement strategies based on trends and opportunities in the pharmaceutical industry and the overall health care environmentA strong business orientation and the ability to view issues from multiple functional perspectivesStrategic thinking ability to participate in the development of the asset strategy and deliverablesStrong analytical, organizational and project management skillsAbility to engage credibly with internal and external stakeholders around scientific topicsExperience working collaboratively and cross-functionally with marketing brand teams, market research, sales, market access, medical affairs, business development, regulatory, research & development, manufacturing, finance and legalExcellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to interface seamlessly with other parts of the organization
