POSITION OVERVIEW:
Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction to formulate and execute sales initiatives that drive optimal business outcomes across the vaccines portfolio. This role involves crafting and implementing comprehensive sales strategies, mentoring the team to meet target metrics, and fostering robust relationships with clients and partners. Acting as a critical link between the team and organizational resources, the position ensures that all efforts align with the overarching business goals and objectives. Additionally, the leader is responsible for the continuous development of the organization to fit the business needs as well as the motivation of the team, ensuring alignment with our core values.
PRIMARY ACTIVITIES
Provide overall sales strategy and direction:
Develop and implement sales strategies and plans to achieve the BU's revenue and growth targets.Utilize market research to identify opportunities and trends for sales growth.Contribute to the BU’s long-range sales and operations planning.Establish broad directions for salesforce program implementation.Collaborate with Sales Force Effectiveness from Commercial Operations to achieve effectiveness metrics, optimize sales team territories, and enhance productivity while managing costs.Direct daily sales operations, ensuring efficiency and alignment with strategic objectives by collaborating with Commercial Operations. Manage resources effectively while identifying and mitigating operational risks through contingency planning and vulnerability assessments.Ensure optimal allocation and utilization of resources:
Oversee sales expenditures relative to the budget, ensuring approval of planned sales expenses aligns with strategic financial goals.Analyze sales and market share data at the BU level to inform and develop targeted plans that drive sales growth.Provide strategic recommendations for resource allocation to enhance major marketing programs and core initiatives.Ensure a strong return on investment by evaluating the effectiveness of sales efforts and adjusting strategies accordingly.Conduct comprehensive resource requirement analyses, negotiate and finalize budgets, and manage expenditures to ensure alignment with strategic priorities.Improve and align the performance of Sales Team:
Engage in regular performance discussions with direct reports, fostering a culture of transparency and accountability across all levels of the organization.Facilitate ongoing business review meetings to assess performance metrics and align team efforts with strategic objectives.Clearly communicate organizational goals, objectives, and policies to ensure all team members are aligned and informed.Champion the implementation of career planning and development initiatives at the BU level, participating in talent assessments to foster the growth of the sales team.Cultivate team synergy and motivation through targeted team development programs that enhance collaboration and performance.Ensure optimal hiring standards are maintained in the recruitment of all members, including Medical Representatives, District Managers, Business Managers, and other related sales positions.Collaborate with the L&D team to identify functional competencies and deliver tailored training and development programs, ensuring the effective application of newly acquired skills in the workplace.Align staff activities and performance with organizational and BU objectives, focusing on capability development, performance evaluation, and fostering an environment that promotes optimal performance.Drive the implementation of market, product, and service strategy:
Collaborate closely with Marketing to ensure that all field force promotional activities are seamlessly aligned with overarching marketing strategies.Monitor the high-level execution and effectiveness of promotional initiatives to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.Ensure that marketing programs are agile and responsive to evolving customer needs and the dynamic market landscape.Customize the implementation of programs to capitalize on identified opportunities and address specific market needs effectively.Lead the execution of the product/market strategy, overseeing associated campaigns while continuously monitoring, reviewing, and refining implementation effectiveness to drive optimal results.EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES
Desired Experience/Education/Skills:
At least 10 years as Sales and/or Marketing Lead experience preferably in pharmaceutical/healthcare industry, with a significant portion in leadership roles.Excellent understanding of sales and marketing principles and processes, with strong commercial acumen.Highly effective sales, relationship-building, communication, and negotiation skills.Demonstrates exceptional leadership capabilities, fostering an open-minded and positive culture with a growth-oriented mindset.Proficient in collaborative and cross-functional engagement to drive organizational success.Exhibits strong enterprise leadership and entrepreneurial acumen.Capable of strategic thinking with a proven track record of excellence in execution.Committed to talent development and nurturing future leaders.Maintains a strong customer focus, coupled with proven skills in team building and relationship management.Recognized for unwavering integrity and trustworthiness.Proficiency in Business EnglishCurrent Employees apply HERE
