We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Development & Validation Engineer for Automatic Transmissions. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and validating components and systems. You will work closely with other engineering groups interacting with the transmission, including hardware, software, calibration, thermal management, and engine and driveline engineering organizations. You will also be responsible for system-level DFMEA development, DVPR, and Test Management execution to ensure functional objectives and durability goals are met. Additionally, you will participate in post-test reviews, including failure analysis, and support assembly plant activities to ensure smooth product launches.
Responsibilities
+ Design, develop, and validate components and systems for automatic transmissions.
+ Collaborate with other engineering groups interacting with the transmission.
+ Develop system-level DFMEA, DVPR, and Test Management execution.
+ Participate in post-test reviews, including failure analysis.
+ Support assembly plant activities to ensure smooth product launches.
Essential Skills
+ B.S. in Mechanical, Aero, Electrical or equivalent Engineering Degree.
+ 5+ years of engineering experience in Automatic Transmission hardware, calibration, or controls development.
+ Excellent communication and presentation skills.
+ Proficiency with basic PC software (e.g., MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project).
+ Ability to manage multiple complex projects.
+ Highly motivated and self-directed.
+ Driving a company vehicle is required.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Master’s degree in Engineering preferred.
+ Experience in transmission design, development, and testing.
+ Specific experience with software, calibration, transmission efficiency, and/or thermal management.
+ Understanding of transmission operation and the interaction between gears, clutches, and electrohydraulic components.
+ Experience with transmission testing procedures, in-vehicle or on dynamometer.
Work Environment
This position requires onsite work at the CTC, ranging from 3-5 days per week. The work environment involves collaboration with various engineering teams and may include some driving of company vehicles. The role demands a positive attitude and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.98 - $45.98/hr.
