Valley Storage Maintenance Technician Location: Meridian, ID, US, 83642-6916 The J.R. Simplot Company is a diverse, privately held global food and agriculture company headquartered in Boise, Idaho. We are a true farm-to-table company with an integrated portfolio including food processing and food brands, phosphate mining, fertilizer manufacturing, farming, ranching and cattle production, and other enterprises related to agriculture. **Summary** This role is vital to the operation of Valley Storage and will work outside to maintain buildings, clean units and maintain the grounds. There is only one other person on the 100+ acres of property. This position pays between $19.50 - $20 per hour **Key Responsibilities** + Maintenance and repair of structures and grounds while practicing acceptable safety procedures + Perform security checks + Repair customer doors/locks, lights and roofs + Burn irrigation ditches + Landscaping work such as pick up trash, mow weeds, maintain gravel roads and clean public restrooms + Office operations in absence of supervisor and office personnel in receiving credit card and cash payments + Operates office computer, printer and phone and answers customer inquiries **Typical Education** High school diploma or general education degree (GED) **Relevant Experience** + 6 month related experience, including proficiency in the operations of small power tools + Must be able to follow safety practices and procedures + Willingness and ability to work at building heights + Strong communication skills + General working knowledge of building construction, plumbing, electrical, and heavy-equipment operation **Required Certifications** **Other Information** Demonstrated knowledge of equipment and heavy equipment (Grader and front-end loader) operation. Demonstrated knowledge of small equipment repair. General plumbing knowledge and application. General electrical knowledge and application. Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in the operation of small tools, power tools, welders, and torches. Must be able to operate a grader and front-end loader. Ability to follow safety practices and procedures applicable to tasks performed. Willingness and ability to work at building and pole heights. Ability to communicate with the public. Ability to manage contractors to maximize efficiency while maintaining high safety standards. Ability to operate heavy equipment and have extensive mechanical/ electrical aptitude.
