This role assesses product value and expense across the clinical scope utilizing data to identify opportunities for cost-reduction initiatives that support quality and safety measures and optimal patient care. Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or in related field. Master’s degree, preferred. Licensure, Registration and/or Certification: Valid multi-state or State of Oklahoma Registered Nurse License. Clinical licensure in other specialties may be considered with appropriate experience. Certified Value Analysis Healthcare Professional (CVAHP), preferred. Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience including direct value analysis experience in a large healthcare setting. Clinical experience in surgical or procedural area, preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other applicable software programs. Knowledge of clinical and operational improvement processes. Analytical skills with the ability to perform cost-benefit analysis and financial feasibility studies. Superior communication, interpersonal, organizational, and facilitation skills. Demonstrated use of a variety of project management concepts, practices, and procedures. Strong Business Acumen. Ability to demonstrate self-initiative and motivation. Ability to provide leadership, improve performance, accept challenges, and maintain composure in stressful situations. Ability to organize and prioritize work in an effective and efficient manner. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Manages the value analysis process assuring the selection of quality products and services that support cost saving initiatives. Collaborates with purchasing and other system value analysis team members to identify, develop, and implement programs that maintains quality and patient outcomes while decreasing cost. Oversees the maintenance of data pertaining to product, service, consumption, process utilization and effectiveness; monitors trends, compliance standards, and drives implementation efforts on improvement measures to ensure ideal outcomes are met. Works with managed care leaders to develop, coordinate, and integrate cost management programs into services by facilitating program development, data collection and analysis, implementation, and follow-up. Reviews and ensures compliance with implemented changes in products, services, and processes are cost-effective; tracks savings compared to target and goals. Partners with clinical leadership throughout the health system to address ways to reduce infections, improve length of stay (LOS), avoid injuries and other priorities to benefit the health system and reduce the overall cost. Decision Making: Independent judgement in planning sequence of operations and making minor decisions in a complex technical or professional field. Working Relationships: Coordinates the activities of others (does not supervise). Works directly with patients and/or customers. Works with internal and/or external customers via telephone or face to face interaction. Works with other healthcare professionals and staff.
