An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Value Improvement Engineer to join the Defence Future Programs part of Aerospace Procurement capability in Bristol.
As a Value Improvement Engineer you will be lead the development of component/sub system cost models (inc. User Friendly Cost Standards) using appropriate Value Improvement & Engineering tools & techniques. You will also ensure that the User Friendly Cost Standards generated are deployed in line with the Global Commodity Strategy.
You will be responsible for identifying & developing cost reduction opportunities and prioritising to deliver timely target cost – through engagement within the supply chain.

What you will be doing:
Responsible for the development and content of global Commodity User Friendly Cost Standards (UFCS’s)Accountable and responsible for deployment of User Friendly Cost Standards training Commodity specific e.g. design & development, control of training material, planning, facilitation & ensure delivery to target population.Responsible for identification and implementation of supplier cost drivers & drive cost improvement.You will be the point of contact to for Continuously leading /mentoring Buyers/Engineering/Integrated Project Teams & SCU (IPT’s) to optimise cost during negotiation/product development process as recognised subject matter expert for allocated commodity.Who we’re looking for:

Engineering degree or equivalentSignificant technical & Manufacturing knowledge of allocated commodityAbility to generate cost modelsAbility to provide technical and professional leadership to a global communitySound understanding of cost driversTo apply for this role, you must be able to obtain Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you don’t currently already have this in place.
