An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Value Improvement Manager to join the Defence Future Programs part of Aerospace Procurement capability in Bristol.

As the Value Improvement Manager you will lead a team of Value Improvement Engineers to develop and implement cost targets for the programme.

You will work internally with the broader Rolls Royce team to validate that new designs meet the cost intent for the product, and externally with the supply chain to ensure Rolls Royce is receiving value for money when buying parts.

You will foster strong relationships across all functions to establish a cost-conscious mindset across the programme. Your creative approach will establish sustainable, long term supply chains, providing a competitive edge for Rolls-Royce, our customers, and suppliers. You will create and deploy cost strategies, which includes ensuring adequate levels of contractual coverage, mitigation of commercial risk, spiral development upgrades, and value improvement cost techniques. You will manage strategic senior level relationships, creating value and competitive advantage, while coaching and mentoring your team to strengthen our cost culture.

What you will be doing:

Lead the team in the development of component/sub system cost models using Value ImprovementYou will be responsible for identifying & developing cost reduction opportunities and prioritising to deliver in a timely manner.You will be responsible for the identification, of supplier cost drivers and working with the supplier and procurement team to implement these opportunities.Working alongside the engineering team to ensure that component and sub system designs meet the cost targets established

A degree at BA level, coupled with experience of working with supply chains and engineers and proven leadership at this level in a regulated or complex industry. Strong commercial and financial skills demonstrated through a proven track record of successful negotiations at a senior level that show negotiation excellence through the ability to influence, think strategically, and problem solver to deliver business value.Understanding of Total Cost of Acquisition/Product Cost Lifecycles and VI techniques to manage costPassion to drive change and make a difference combined with ability to solve complex problems.

To apply for this role, you must be able to obtain Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you don’t currently already have this in place.
