Job Summary
Oversees the day-to-day operation of production departments driving manufacturing goal attainment through the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives pertaining to output, quality, safety, and cost within the value stream.
Essential FunctionsEnsure staffing levels are maintained to match the Production Plan Schedule while developing staffing plans to meet forecasted demand. Responsible for establishing and maintaining acceptable quality levels for all assigned products. Address and correct quality issues through the timely execution of failure investigations, root cause analysis, and resolution of workmanship issues. Maximize productivity and manufacturing efficiency of production. Lead daily management to drive sustainable, continuous improvements in output, quality, safety, and cost, reporting necessary countermeasures and problem-solving data to site management. Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives to eliminate waste of value streams. Drives Value Stream initiatives with manufacturing engineering personnel relative to process and tooling to improve production and quality of products. Review Labor Efficiency and Scrap trending reports to drive financial improvements within the departments. Drive the cross-training of associates to ensure labor capacities meet required workload and minimize risk of downtime due to skill sets. Mentor and support supervisors in completing fair, accurate, and meaningful yearly performance evaluations, and merit increases. Support supervisors in time tracking reviewing and approval, when needed
Required/Preferred Education and Experience BS in a technical field or equivalent required or AS in a technical field or equivalent required Minimum of 6 six years supervisory experience running a final assembly and test manufacturing line. required and Preferably 2-3 years of managerial experience. required Lean Manufacturing certification Preferred and Six Sigma Green Belt Certification or higher Preferred and APCIS-Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) CPIM certification Preferred
Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesStrong interpersonal skills, including demonstrated ability to work with colleagues in production and other functions Excellent verbal and written communication skills Must be proficient in Office programs QSR experience a plus
