Value Stream Manager

 

 

SUMMARY OF ROLE:

The Value Stream Manager is responsible for overseeing their Value Stream from raw material procurement to the delivery of the final product, ensuring that the Value Stream meets or exceeds SQCD (safety, quality, cost, delivery) results and profitability.

 

This role engages the team members by providing leadership supporting the SIG’s Excellence System (SES) objectives, fostering a team environment with a clear understanding of its mission and vison within SIG.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop and maintain the value stream budget, including cost analysis and financial reporting, ensuring targets are met. Responsible for managing and leading the SES (SIG’s Excellence System) and methodologies in daily business practices within the Value Stream to minimize process variation. Implement Continuous Improvement Strategies utilizing Lean techniques to minimize waste and optimize efficiency. Establish and maintain a strong working relationship with customers and suppliers. Facilitate communication and collaboration engaging team members to foster a culture of continuous improvement to meet or exceed SQCD results and profitability. Establish KPI’s for the Value Stream which clearly measuring departmental performance on a regular basis and communicate this information to upper management. Implement continuous improvement strategies to meet or exceed SQCD metrics. Ensure effective Product Safety environment with adherence to US FDA, Dairy, HACCP, AIB and all other agreed upon product safety requirements. Develop strong relationships with cross functional teams including production, quality, and supply chain to ensure a smooth operation and timely resolution of issues. Strong Communicator with the ability to keep the Value Stream and management team abreast of significant issues or developments identified during activities and actions being taken to improve the situation. Maintain Product Safety program in compliance with SQF guidelines. Must have exemplary leadership abilities and be able to motivate, coach and develop team members. They must be open to ideas from employees for improvement. They should be able to create a value stream action plan to meet/exceed SQCD and effectively communicate results and action plans throughout the organization on a timely basis. In collaboration with the Training Team develop and implement an effective training and development process throughout the Value Stream. Ensure compliance with SIG policies and procedures. YOU BRING THESE SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

Associate degree from an accredited college or university in Business or Technical discipline or bachelor's degree from an accredited 4-year college or university in Business or Technical discipline preferred. Five (5) to seven (7) years of manufacturing experience. Three (3) to five (5) years of related management experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of experience and training. Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Suite.  Excellent interpersonal and Project Management skills required. Knowledge of quality control procedures, good manufacturing practices and team development. Proven track record in driving continuous improvement via lean tools, driver of positive change. Demonstrated knowledge of Lean, Safety, and Quality.  Demonstrated problem solving skills and conflict resolution skills.  Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis. Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.  Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors. Experience with plastic extrusion and/or injection molding is preferred. The ability to excel in a fast paced, high-energy environment with constant interface with people.

Must be able to move and/or lift up to 50 pounds occasionally. Frequently standing, walking, and sitting. Frequently required the use of hands to finger, feel, reach, or handle machinery. Frequently bend, stoop and reach. Visual Acuity (VA).
