Vascular Access Specialty Team Registered Nurse RN - Evenings (3 - 10-hour shifts) with weekends and holidays in rotation

Essential Duties:
Part of a team but will be working autonomously from others on the team throughout the hospital and outpatient areas to select and insert vascular access devices (from peripheral intravenous catheters, deep access catheters, midlines, central lines, arterial lines, and dialysis catheters), care for and maintain those lines including trouble shooting and implementation of interventions to reduce complications.Responsible and accountable for knowledge and care of all equipment utilized by the VAST and communication tools necessary to operate as a member of the team and hospital systems. Educates to all disciplines (CNA, RN, Medical providers and associate professionals) and as such the need to be willing to teach and maintain a professional demeanor is a must.Highly flexible and autonomous with excellent critical thinking skills and can complete various job assignments in a timely manner as a team leader.Ability to critical think and may be asked to utilize skills outside of vascular access for patient care purposes.Be part of the team for collection of QA/QI and function within the team to recommend positive changes that moves the team forward.Be available as helping hands if vascular needs are completeEducation and Experience:
Current Licensure in State of Maine or Nursing Licensure Compact of States where applicable to practice (with Maine RN License pending).Peripheral I.V. experience preferred.Current BCLS and ACLS.Vascular Access Board Certified Required within 2 years of hireMaintain minimum of 5 CEU’s in vascular access annually with a total of 30 every 3 yearsCompletion of Anatomy and physiology of the vascular system within 6 months of hireCompletion of fundamentals of vascular access course within 6 months of hireBasic understanding of ECG interpretationKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:
