VAT Analyst

As a VAT Analyst, you will independently manage a range of VAT activities for legal entities centralized in the Financial Service Center (FSC), ensuring full compliance with VAT policies and guidelines. You will be responsible for the accurate processing, analysis, and reporting of VAT-related data, supporting both internal and external requirements.
This role offers the opportunity to contribute to process improvements and participate in projects driven by business needs, fiscal administration requirements, or internal initiatives.
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Prepare and submit accurate VAT returns on a monthly or quarterly basis.
+ Support the DSCI Team with VAT reconciliations and related activities.
+ Prepare and deliver high-quality indirect tax reports (e.g., VAT declarations, tax audit documentation) in line with internal and external requirements, ensuring timely submission.
+ Provide expert advice and guidance to business functions and operational teams on all VAT-related matters, ensuring compliance and supporting decision-making.
+ Investigate discrepancies and initiate corrective actions when necessary.
+ Perform VAT closing activities and address subsequent queries promptly.
+ Calculate and post accounting entries (accruals, adjustments…)
+ Stay current with VAT legislation and compliance requirements, including local books and other statutory returns for assigned jurisdictions (continuous professional education).
+ Participate in internal and external audits, providing support to local finance and tax teams, especially during tax audits.
+ Contribute to special projects driven by business needs, fiscal administration requirements, or internal initiatives focused on process improvement and data quality enhancement.
+ Conduct detailed reviews, analysis, and interpretation of VAT processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and proper reporting.
**Major Challenges**
+ Achieving daily processing objectives in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
+ Identifying and implementing process improvement opportunities within the team’s scope.
+ Applying and adhering to a series of operating procedures that require attention to detail under pressure.
+ Supporting the Tax Organization and other relevant business/functions on various VAT and tax projects and initiatives.

**Key Relationships**
+ Regular interaction with team members, Team Leaders, and Team Supervisors.
+ Collaboration with internal and external customers, including legal entity controllers and tax authorities.
+ Ongoing dialogue with the local organization, tax organization, and peer teams.
**Qualifications**
+ University degree in Accounting or Finance.
+ Minimum of 2 years’ experience in finance or accounting.
+ Demonstrated experience and knowledge in VAT compliance is a plus.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer literacy.
+ Business proficiency in English; additional languages are a plus
+ SAP knowledge is required.
