Job Description

At Veolia Water Technologies and Solutions (Veolia WTS), we are seeking a highly skilled VAT Specialist to join our dynamic finance team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our mission of creating a more sustainable future through innovative water management solutions.

As our VAT Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring VAT compliance across our European entities. You'll work closely with the VAT Subject Matter Expert and collaborate with finance team members and external service providers to develop a deep understanding of European VAT processes. Your expertise in data analysis, reporting, and VAT accounting will be instrumental in supporting our financial operations.

 

Day-to-Day Duties:

Assist VAT preparation in EMEA region, approve VAT returns for filingConduct basic data analysis to identify discrepancies and anomaliesManage the timeliness of VAT liability payments and VAT deductionReview and approval of VAT account reconciliations of VAT accounts, including reconciliation of VAT balances with the tax authoritiesPerform reconciliations between the VAT + Intrastat / EU sales reports, perform reconciliation between e-invoicing, tax returns and SAPTake part in upcoming VAT reporting related projects;Interact with internal and external service provider’s VAT expert team in any technical questions;Follow up with customer care / accounts payable team on erroneous account receivable /payable entries; coordinate VAT communicationAnswer to VAT related queriesSupport VAT tax audit processes

 

Qualifications

Skills and Experience Required:

Minimum BSc in Finance / Accounting / TaxAt least 5 years’ experience in VATFluency in EnglishKnowledge of VAT accountingSAP experience is an advantageAdvanced Excel user - strong Excel skills in data compilation and aggregationStrong communication skills, team player attitude – able to develop good working relationships
